Many people have been asking when we will be returning to the South Philadelphia String Band for our Doo-Wop Nights and the wait is finally over. On Wednesday, August 25, 2010 we will return to begin our 5th Season and on stage will be none other than the tremendously popular QUIET STORM. Due to the increase in food prices and volume of food that is eaten at each event, we will be raising the price of admission to $15, which will allow us to continue providing a Top-Notch Spread of Food and pay the entertainers. Remember, this is STILL a ridiculous deal. Nowhere else in the World can you get a Great Night Out with an all-you-can-eat buffet of delicious food, two great sets by an Awesome Acapella Group, Dancing and a Collector's Corner, all while being around the greatest fans, supporters and friends of this Fabulous Music for $15!! Bob Buerklin and the staff of the South Philadelphia String Band LOOK FORWARD to seeing everyone back. Doors open up at 6 and we carry on all night. Bob & Rich from Four Star Studios will be on hand to record the entire night, so come be part of their historical recordings. This is sure to be the MOST EXCITING Season yet! See you there!

UPDATE regarding the Simulcast on Sounds of Philly Radio
My apologies to the listeners of Sounds of Philly Radio who tuned in TONIGHT and were directed here regarding the download of shows. The Show that ran Tonight was in fact LAST WEEK'S show from Destination Doo-Wop that was supposed to run then. Regarding the information you heard, there is NO Doo-Wop Event THIS UPCOMING Wednesday Night at the South Philadelphia String Band. The Norristones appeared LAST WEDNESDAY and were GREAT as usual.
Next Wednesday, June 16, 2010 will be the next Doo-Wop Event at The South Philadelphia String Band and the featured group will be 5/3 Woodland. The address is 2820 West Porter Street. People start piling in around 7pm. There is a $10 cover, which includes a full food buffet, dancing with King Arthur, 2 great sets by 5/3 Woodland and a Collector's Corner later on in the night with yours truly, Jimmy DePre spinning the rare and sweet sides.
